Romantic holiday on an ecological agriturismo with 9 hectares of land, a forest and two wild streams, in a 16th-century country house, both holiday apartments with their own garden

The country house is located in Vinci in the hills of the Montalbano mountain chain, in the birthplace of Leonardo da Vinci. It is surrounded by olive groves and vineyards.

The typically Tuscan country house made of stone, whose origins go back to the year 1500, was completely restored with a great deal of dedication, in order to preserve its authenticity. It is divided into two independent holiday apartments, separated from each other by two rooms used as a reception. The holiday apartments are accessible from opposite sides of a forecourt. The house affords wide panoramic views over San Miniato and the hills covered with olive groves and vineyards.

Where there was once a mill race used as a water source for powering the mill, the pool for communal use is now being built. The site is completely fenced in. From the automatic entrance gate to the site, a path leads to the forecourt in front of the country house. The forecourt provides a communal area with a pergola and a table tennis table, as well as parking spaces for the holiday guests. The words ‘wildly romantic’ describe this property perfectly. The owner of the organic farm lives in a historic mill at the confluence of two wild streams. Around 9 hectares of forest and land for cultivating organic olive oil and wine surround the property and can be explored by guests.

The property represents an ideal starting point for ecotourism and for all those who would like to visit Florence and the most beautiful Tuscan cities, before returning to the beautiful and tranquil setting of the country house in the evening. The whole area is steeped in history: you can visit, free of charge, the house where Leonardo da Vinci was born, as well as the “Museo Leonardiano” (Leonardo da Vinci Museum).

Wheelchair accessible holiday apartment with veranda, own garden and barbecue

The holiday apartment has a very light and friendly interior and is on two floors. It comprises a kitchen-diner, a bedroom, two bathrooms and a further room. On the entrance level there are the kitchen-diner, the bedroom and bathroom. Stairs lead to the lower floor, where the second bathroom and additional room are located. The kitchen-diner affords a beautiful view onto the forecourt through a terrace door, and has two small tables for sitting together cosily. The kitchen unit is equipped with everything you could wish for, including a coffee machine, gas stove and dishwasher. In the bathroom, the shower is barrier-free (see photo). The bedroom is furnished with a double bed, wardrobe and television, with its two windows affording views out onto greenery, onto the garden of the apartment where the owner lives. On the lower floor the bathroom has a shower, the second room has a sofa and a terrace door opening onto the garden.

Information about the wheelchair accessibility of the holiday apartment: access to the holiday apartment is via the forecourt level. On this level one can find the living spaces and the bathroom with a shower suitable for the disabled. The lower level is also wheelchair accessible from the other side of the building (via the garden). Therefore one can avoid the interior steps if required and both floors can be used with a wheelchair.

Through the room on the lower floor one can access the veranda and the adjoining garden. In the outdoor area, furnished with a table, chairs and barbecue, you can enjoy sunshine, fresh air, relaxation and tranquillity. There is also a private parking space here.

    “Top(!)restauriertes "altes" Haus, wirklich alles neuwertig, hochwertige Ausstattung in allen Räumen (Klima, Heizung, etc.), professionelle Küche mit allen erforderlichen Geräten und Zubehör. WLAN incl., 3 riesengroße Schlafzimmer mit bequemen Betten und jeweils eigenem Badezimmer/WC, Wohnzimmer mit offenem Kamin und Sat-TV (div. deutschsprachige Sender), Überall top (!) Sauberkeit bei der Übernahme.

    Riesiger, aber trotzdem romantischer Garten mit div. Sitzgelegenheiten, Pool, Grillplatz, Hängematten, Tischfußball (Wutzler), TT-Tisch, Dartscheibe, usw. inmitten von 1.500 Olivenbäumen, tolle Aussicht ins Land, trotzdem absolut ruhig. Die Vermieterin und ihrer deutschsprachige "Rechte Hand" sind äußerst freundlich und stets extrem hilfsbereit. (Besorgte uns sogar eine amtliche Ausnahmebewilligung für Behinderte zwecks Einfahrt in die sonst für Kfz. gesperrte Innenstadt von Florenz !!!)”

    “Es handelt sich um ein herrlich gelegenes, sehr gut ausgestattetes Ferienhaus in den Bergen. Es ist alles sauber und freundlich eingerichtet. Die große Küche erlaubt es wunderbares Essen zu kochen, dass man dann im Freien unter den Olivenbäumen genießen kann. Es gibt drei große Schlafzimmer je mit angeschlossenem Badezimmer. Das Haus ist umgeben von weitläufigen Olivenhainen, die zum Wandern einladen. Besonders hervorzuheben ist der herrliche Fernblick über die Landschaft der Toskana. Die deutsche Vermieterin ist ausgesprochen freundlich und steht telefonisch und persönlich für Nachfragen zur Verfügung. Es sind eine Tischtennisplatte und drei Mountainbikes vorhanden. Das Haus ist sehr empfehlenswert, gerade auch für Familien und Gruppen.”

    “Es ist alles da, was für eine Wohnung vorhanden sein muss. Der Vermieter kümmert sich sehr zuvorkommend, sollte irgendetwas nicht funktionieren, sofort um das Problem und behebt es. Die sehr gepflegte Anlage liegt etwa 9 km abseits von Empoli und ca. 5 km von Vinci. Bei der Anreise sollte sich zuvor in Empoli bei COOP eingedeckt werden, ansonsten gibt es im benachbarten Ort Vitolini einen Alimentari, der 300 m zu Fuß entfernt liegt oder leicht mit dem Auto zu erreichen ist. Die Landschaft - nicht nur um das Ferienhaus - ist wunderbar. Für den, der die Abgeschiedenheit liebt, ist das Haus sehr empfehlenswert. Die Gastgeberin hat jede Menge Tipps für die umliegenden Restaurants, auch wenn man dann immer mit einer Fahrtzeit von 20-45 Minuten rechnen muss.”
